Director’s Welcome

Welcome to the Glenn County Human Resource Agency (HRA). My name is Scott Gruendl and I am the HRA Director. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me with your concerns, ideas, or suggestions.

The HRA consists of two organizations: Social Services and Community Action. These two organizations provide a depth of assistance from protecting children from abuse and neglect, to helping citizens find a job, a better job, or a career. Our goal is to provide services to individuals, families, and communities so that they are safe, stable and strong. We are here to provide a helping hand to those who desire to make their lives better.

The HRA works with other public agencies, community organizations, and residents to provide a wide array of important and helpful services. We rehabilitate homes to decrease energy consumption and costs; provide energy assistance; offer a number of housing programs; provide public assistance such as CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, CMSP, and Food Stamps; we protect children and the elderly; assist existing and new businesses; and help people become employed or to get a better job.

Ultimately, our goal is to be here for you when all else has failed, to provide you with a helping hand, and to give you the strength to get your life back on track. We will not do this for you, but we will partner with you to help you reach the goals that you set for yourself. We all face adversity at one time or another, and what makes the difference is how we handle this adversity and work to overcome it.  If for some reason we cannot help you, we will find someone who will.

If for some reason you are not happy with the HRA, please let me know. We are only as good as those who chose to provide us with feedback. It is very important to me that we listen to the citizens that we serve and that we are responsive to your needs. Please also let us know if this web site is helpful and what we can do to make it better.
