for Volunteer Tax Preparers for this year’s National VITA (Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance) program. The program provides FREE income tax
assistance for low income families, the elderly, and the disabled whose income
is $49,000 or less and individuals below $24,000 a year. This is a great
opportunity to serve your community while gaining valuable work experience.
Volunteers receive free training and are certified by the IRS. Last year the
VITA program brought just over $170,000 to the Glenn County economy through EITC
(Earned Income Tax Credit) and other tax refunds. VITA provides valuable
assistance to people by generating free financial education and tax
preparation. Volunteers should be prepared to donate 2 to 4 hours per week from

subject of any restraining order. Must complete an approved Basic Jail
Operations course and a firearms training and certification course within
twelve (12) months of hire. Must obtain and maintain current American Red Cross
basic first aid and CPR certificates within 90 days of hire. These courses are
