RESOURCE CENTER HOURS

Hours to receive STAFF-ASSISTED services at the America’s Job Center Employment Resource Centers will be on the days as follows:

In Willows:  Monday & Wednesday (10am-2pm)

ADDITIONAL HOURS at the Orland Site:  Monday, Wednesday (1pm-5pm) & Tuesday & Thursday (8am-12pm & 1pm -5pm).

You will need to bring your Right-to-Work documents with you for staff-assisted services.

On all other days/hours, the America’s Job Center Employment Resource Centers are available to the public on a “self-serve” basis Monday-Friday; 8-5

 

The Glenn County America’s Job Center has been awarded a small grant to assist VETERAN’S in moving quickly from military life into high-wage jobs and civilian careers.

This project will focus on training veterans for careers in the following industries: 

(1) Healthcare, (2) Protective Services, (3) Installation/Maintenance, and (4) Production and Transportation  

The Glenn County America’s Job Center will be able to serve veterans who have service-connected disabilities; campaign veterans; veterans with significant barriers; as well as eligible spouses and recently-separated veterans.

Recently-separated veterans will be a high priority for this project. This group is most in need of identifying transferable skills, re-training into civilian occupation areas, and assistance with job attainment and retention.

7. Assist the Program Director in the preparation of the annual budget.  Prepare reports necessary to the maintenance of grants. 

8. Client transportation and advocacy.

Trainees and Corps Members will live at a CCC Residential Center in South Lake Tahoe or at our Placer center in Auburn, and will be required to go on "spikes" lasting up to 10 days where they will live and work at remote wilderness camps and work sites.  Housing, meals, utilities and transportation are provided by the CCC at these Residential Centers. Applicants must be willing/able to hike long distances, carry heavy gear, participate in training and education, work/camp in remote locations, and work/camp in all types of weather conditions.
